"Whenever I start my pieces, I am unaware of what the final result will be. I begin painting with inspiration from the world around us. As I create the initial shapes, ideas flood my mind. Frequently I will find the meaning behind the painting towards the end of my journey with the piece. My goal is not to take something real and turn it abstract, but rather, to take something abstract and turn it real. It is quite often that figures emerge from the landscapes I have created, and I build upon these representations in a way that accentuates their abstractualized traits. By the end, I have created a piece and experience that even I couldn't replicate."

"I am frequently surprised at my creations, and they evolve throughout the painting process. Their unique features are built from a wide variety of tools and media. I use oil and acrylic paints as well as oil pastels. My tools range from palette knives, to spray bottles, and even other canvases. These techniques are shown in the details of my artwork "
